York YMCA Masters Swimming
York YMCA Masters Swimming is an adult program intended for swimmers 18 and older looking to improve their fitness and swimming skills. We accept and encourage all abilities from beginners to advanced. York Masters is sponsored by the York YMCA swimming program, a nationally ranked club with a knowledgeable and skilled coaching staff.
Fitness, fun, friendship, and competition are among our goals here with the York Masters. We offer a year round, expertly designed program for improving skills and meeting those goals. Improve your swimming with a coach available for training, and technical assistance.

Masters FAQ
No. We’ll make you better, no matter your current level. Whether you are pro or very very novice, there is a place for you here.
No. You can be if you want to be, but you don’t need to be. Some Masters will be here everyday in hard training for upcoming meets, some will be swimming once in a while or just to keep in shape, others to compete with their swimming friends, etc. We are here to meet a variety of needs.
No. You can choose any or all of our offered weekly practices.
No. You can if you want, but you don’t need to.
No. We understand that people have work and life schedules that do not always coincide with our practice times. If you want to swim but need to come a little late or leave a little early, that is fine.
No. We offer options for Y members and options for non-members.
You can if you want to, but you don’t need to. You can come as much or as little as you wish.
First, you are only as young or old as you feel. Second, “Masters” refers to anyone who likes swimming, wants to swim with a group, and who doesn’t want to swim on a college or competitive club team. “Old” or “young.”
No. If you don’t know them and want to learn, we will teach you. If you don’t know them and don’t care to learn them, we will work with you on the strokes you want to do.
Fine. We’ll help you improve your freestyle and thus your swimming times for your tris.
That’s why we offer several options for practice times. If mornings are better for you, we have mornings; if noontimes are better, we have those as well.
